Record Number of Taxes Collected for Fiscal Year 2014


The October 15th tax extension deadline has come and gone as we enter further into the fourth quarter. We hope everyone has taken the appropriate steps to file their taxes with the IRS. 

The federal government, in a report released Wednesday from the Treasury Department, reported that it collected a record amount of taxes for fiscal year 2014.

The $3 trillion dollars in revenue that was collected assisted in dropping the deficit to its lowest level under Barack Obama's presidency. 

According to the US Treasury, individual taxes increased 6% and coprorate income taxes increased 17%.
